Week 7 — Apple Blossom

Our town holds a beautiful 5K run called the Apple Blossom Run every year in mid-April. The race winds through a local apple orchard, creating a stunning scene as runners pass beneath a canopy of blossoming apple trees. Inspired by this annual event, I've chosen the apple blossom as our flower for this week.

Kit is prepared as always.

Kit Includes all the accessories and tools, the kit can make 4 bunches of Apple Blossom, which is same as the picture ( Vase not included).

Abbreviations & Explaination

ch: chain, draw up a loop from a st.

sc: single crochet, insert the hook and draw up a loop, pull through 2 loops

sl2tog: slip 2 st together, draw up a loop, pull through 2 sts together.

dc: double crochet, yarn over, insert the hook and draw up a loop, pull through 2 loops, pull through 2 loops again.

Tsc: Tunisian single crochet, insert the hook and draw up a loop, leave the loop on the hook.

Tdc: Tunisian double crochet, yarn over, insert the hook and draw up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, leave the remaining loop on the hook.

2-dc Cluster: Yarn over, insert hook in space, draw up a loop,  draw through 2 loops. (2 loops left on hook) , yarn over, insert hook back into same space,  draw up a loop,   , draw through all 3 loops. 

Fpdc: Front Post double crochet. Yarn over, Insert the hook from the current st, hook came out from the next st, draw up a yarn loop, pull through 2 loops twice.

Instructions

Flower (Make 7pcs)

Magic Ring

R1: 6ch, 1tsc on the 1st bump, 1tsc on each of next 3 bumps, there are 1 bump left on the chain, sl2tog till one loop on the hook.

R2: 2ch, 1tsc on the 2nd bump, 1tsc on each of next 3 bumps, sl2tog till one loop on the hook.

R3:1ch, 1sl to the 2nd bump, 1tsc on each of next 4 bumps (watch video to see the bumps position), sl2 tog till one loop on the hook.

R4: 1ch, 1sl on the 3rd bump, 1sl on each of next 3 bumps, 1sl in the magic ring.

Repeat R1-R4  4 more time, total 5 petals.

Flower Buds (Make 9pcs)

R1: 6sc on a magic ring, 1sl on the 1st sc st to join.

R2: 2ch, 1dc on the same st, the 2ch and 1dc count as a 2-dc cluster st, 2dc cluster st on each of next 5 sts, 1sl  on the 1st dc st to join.

R3: 1ch ( this doesn't count as any st), 1 Fpdc on each of next 6 st, cut the yarn and make an invisible joint.

Leaves

Cut 10" wire for each leave.

Small Leaves ( make 12pcs)

10ch, add wire, 1sc on the 2nd bump, 1hdc, 1dc, 1tr on each of next 2 bumps, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc on each of next 2 bumps, 1ch, 1sl on the 1st bump to make the tip, then start to work on the other side of the chain.

1sc on each of next 2 sts, 1hdc, 1dc, 1tr on each of next 2sts, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc, 1sl to the very first sc st to join.

Leave about 8" yarn to wind on the wire for about 1.5".

Large Leaves ( make 9pcs)

12ch, add wire, 1sc on the 2nd bump, 1hdc, 1dc, 1tr on each of next 4 bumps, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc on each of next 2 bumps, 1ch, 1sl on the 1st bump to make the tip, then start to work on the other side of the chain.

1sc on each of next 2 sts, 1hdc, 1dc, 1tr on each of next 4sts, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc, 1sl to the very first sc st to join.

Leave about 8" yarn to wind on the wire for about 1.5".
