Week 3 — Hyacinth

How could a spring without hyacinth! 

Kit is prepared as always.

Kit Includes all the accessories and tools, the kit can make 3 bunches of Forsythia, which is same as the picture ( Vase not included).

Abbreviations & Explaination

ch: chain, draw up a loop from a st.

sc: single crochet, insert the hook and draw up a loop, pull through 2 loops

sl2tog: slip 2 st together, draw up a loop, pull through 2 sts together.

dc: double crochet, yarn over, insert the hook and draw up a loop, pull through 2 loops, pull through 2 loops again.

Tsc: Tunisian single crochet, insert the hook and draw up a loop, leave the loop on the hook.

Tdc: Tunisian double crochet, yarn over, insert the hook and draw up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, leave the remaining loop on the hook.

Instructions

Flower (Make 20pcs)

R1: 7sc in a magic ring, sl to the 1st sc st to join.

R2: 1ch ( doesn't count as any st), 1sc on each of st, sl to the 1st sc st to join. Ttl: 7 sts.

R3:1ch ( doesn't count as any st), 1sc on each of next 2sts, 2sctog, 1sc on each of next 3sts, sl to the 1st sc st to join. Ttl: 6 sts.

R4-R6: 1ch ( doesn't count as any st), 1sc on each of st, sl to the 1st sc st to join. Ttl: 6 sts.

Then, start to make the petals. Crochet one petal on each st of R6, total 6 petals.

R1:6ch, sl to the 1st bump from the hook. (Bumps are at back of the chain st.), 1tsc on each of next 4 bumps, 1tsc on the back loop of 1st chain st, sl2tog till one loop left on the hook.

R2: We can see 4sts after R1, skip one st, 1sc on each of next 3sts (pick up 2 loops of the st, please watch the video to see the picked up loops), 1sl to loop which is the 1st chain st connect with R6. (Watch video to find the correct loop), sl to the next st of R6.

Repeat R1-R2 5 more times to finish total 6 petals.

Flower Buds

Large buds ( make 5pcs)

R1: Make a magic ring, 5ch, 1tsc, 1thdc, 1thdc, 1tsc on the 4 bumps of the chain back, 1tsc in the magic ring, sl2tog till one loop on the hook.

R2-R5: Same as R1.

R6: 1sl to the side of R1 to join, 1ch( doesn't count as any st), 1sc on each row side, total 5sc, sl to the 1st sc st to join, cut the yarn.

Tighten the magic ring, use the yarn tail to sewing the side .

Medium buds ( make 5 pcs)

R1-R4: Same as the Large buds.

 1sl to the side of R1 to join,cut the yarn. Tighten the magic ring, use the yarn tail to sewing the side .

Small Buds ( make 3 pcs)

Make a magic ring, 2ch, 7-tr cluster st, tighten, cut the yarn and sewing the side.

X-Small Buds (make 3 pcs)

Make a magic ring, add the wire, 1ch, 6-hdc cluster st, tighten, cut the yarn and sewing the side.

Leaves

There are 3 size of leaves. We need make 2 of each for Small and Medium size leaves, and 1 for Large size leaf.

36 ( 42, 48) ch.

R1: 1sc on the 1st bump from the hook, put a marker on this st.

R2: 1dc on the next bump.

R3: Yarn over ( this increased one st), 1tsc on  one loop of the middle of R2 dc st ( watch video), 1tsc on the next bump, total 4 loops on the hook, sl2tog till one loop left.

R4: 1tsc on each of 2sts ( pick up one loop on the st surface, pls watch the video), 1tsc on the next bump, ttl 4 loops on the hook, sl2tog till one loop left.

R5: Yarn over ( this increased one st), 1tsc on wach of next 2sts, yarn over ( increased one st), 1tsc on the next bump, total 6 loops on the hook, sl2tog till one loop left.

R6-12: 1tsc on each of 4sts ( pick up one loop on the st surface, pls watch the video), 1tsc on the next bump, ttl 6 loops on the hook, sl2tog till one loop left.

R13: Yarn over ( this increased one st), 1tsc on wach of next 4sts, yarn over ( increased one st), 1tsc on the next bump, total 8 loops on the hook, sl2tog till one loop left.

R14: 1tsc on each of 6sts ( pick up one loop on the st surface, pls watch the video), 1tsc on the next bump, ttl 8 loops on the hook, sl2tog till one loop left.

Repeat R14 till there are 2 bumps left.

Start decrease rows:

R1: 1tsc on each of 5sts ,skip one st, 1tsc on the next bump, ttl 7 loops on the hook, sl2tog till 3 loops left, sl3tog

R2: 1tsc on each of 3sts ,skip one st, 1tsc on the next bump, ttl 5 loops on the hook, sl2tog till 3 loops left, sl3tog

Border of the leaves:

1sc on the next st, add wire, pick up back loop only, 1sc on each st, till the st with marker. (1sc, 2ch, 1sc) in the marker st, pick up the full st, not back loop only. 1sc on each of the following sts, back loop only, till the 1st sc, sl to the 2nd sc st to join.

Please note, please wrap the wire when crocheting this round.
